The season finale of “Game of Thrones” reignited a recurring theory about the reason Cersei Lannister and the disgruntled mercenary Bronn are never in the same scene together.
Before a crucial meeting in Sunday’s epic drama, Bronn — played by actor Jerome Flynn — takes his former brothel pal Podrick to go for a drink before the Lannisters arrive to take part in a tense negotiation about how to fight an army of dead people.
Lena Headey, who plays Cersei in the award-winning fantasy drama, enters the courtyard for a discussion among her enemies while the actor Flynn is nowhere in sight.
According to a 2014 report in The Telegraph, Headey and Flynn had dated at one point — and it apparently did not end well.
“Jerome and Lena aren’t on speaking terms any more and they are never in the same room at the same time,” a member of the crew told the the newspaper.
“It’s a pity because they appeared to have patched things up for a while, but now the word is they should be kept apart at all costs.”
It’s always possible that they can remedy the situation before the 8th and final season of the epic drama.
Or Cersei could order Bronn decapitated and have his head displayed on a spike in King’s Landing.
